Cytokine Profile Analysis

Changes in the expression levels of cytokines affect many biological processes, such as inflammation, immune response and migration, and angiogenesis. Cytokines are terminal effectors that respond to complex cellular signals. The regulation of cellular processes is a complex dynamic process involving multiple proteins. At present, the detection methods for the expression of cytokine translation level are mainly single-target detection, and the detection methods include ELISA and protein immunoblotting. These tests are more suitable for single-target research. Many immune responses and inflammatory responses involved in animal models usually include multiple pathways, even cytokine storms. The cytokine array is a fast, sensitive, and cost-effective method that can detect multiple proteins in a single liquid sample. The complete analysis of the biological response and function of the microarray through multiple analysis is the characteristic of the microarray analysis. Cytokine array screening can improve the chances of discovering key factors, disease mechanisms, or biomarkers related to cytokine signaling. The test principle of the cytokine array is similar to the immunoassay of ELISA but uses a membrane as a substrate instead of a microplate. Cytokine arrays are cost-effective for research involving many cytokine targets but a small number of samples.

Service Process

The microarray can simultaneously detect the levels of multiple cytokines in a single sample. There are extensive interactions between cytokines, and the expression of all terminal effectors of complex signal pathways in the case of a specific disease or special treatment can be achieved through a single test, which is conducive to forming an overall understanding of the disease. We provide comprehensive testing services based on the microarray service platform, including quantitative and semi-quantitative platforms. It can be determined by the double-antibody sandwich method or biotin labeling method. We provide a variety of specifications of microarray products for you to choose from, or you can choose to customize the detection content according to the experimental scene and print a customized array. Our services target multiple proteins in a single liquid sample, such as serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatant. We provide antibody arrays for human, mouse, and rat cytokine detection, including a menu of about 500 analytes for you to choose from. For example, fixed panel testing includes Th1/Th2 double testing, Th9/Th17/Th22 multiple testing and immunotherapy multiple testing and so on. You can email us for consultation. It also provides high-performance, high-sensitivity analysis methods and high-performance detection instruments for low-abundance analytes. The main steps of the detection process are protein extraction, chemical labeling, microarray detection, and data analysis.

Technical Advantages

Compared with analysis obtained by multiple single-target ELISA, immunoprecipitation, or Western blotting.

  • The cytokine microarray can provide a broader view of the protein spectrum;
  • The cytokine microarray saves time and labor costs;
  • The reduced number of experiments by cytokine microarray can reduce human error.
